enancy Start & Check-In
Once your tenancy agreement is signed and your standing order is set up, you will receive your check-in report on the day your tenancy begins via the Inventory Hive. This will include important documents such as the Energy Performance Certificate and the Landlord’s Gas Safety Certificate.
We will also take meter readings for gas, electricity, and water on check-in. You will need to review and sign the check-in report online to confirm receipt. You then have 7 days to report any discrepancies.
Keys will be handed over to you at the property during the check-in appointment.
Property Management
Some landlords choose to let an estate agent handle day-to-day management, including repairs and maintenance. Others manage the property themselves.
We’ll always make it clear who is responsible for managing your home, so you know exactly who to contact if you need support or have a maintenance issue.
Deposit Protection
Once you move in, you will receive confirmation from a government-approved Deposit Protection Scheme confirming that your deposit has been safely registered.
If you do not receive this, please contact us (if the property is managed by us) or your landlord (if it is a let-only property).
Property Inspections
If your property is managed by us, we will carry out routine inspections. The first visit will be approximately 6 weeks after you move in to ensure you are settling in well. After that, inspections are usually carried out every 6 months.
